FNSS is exhibiting its PARS III 6x6 AFV fitted with a TEBER-II turret and its new remote-controlled weapon system, SANCAK 30, at DSA 2024. As an provider of armoured vehicles for Malaysia, FNSS has brought its newest weapon systems to the DSA 2024 exhibition held in Malaysia. The first of these weapon systems, SANCAK 30, was spotted on the PARS 4x4 during IDEF 2023. However, in DSA 2024, the RCWS is displayed in a standalone state for a closer look. Developed from SANCAK RCWS, currently used on PARS IV 6x6 vehicles of the Turkish Armed Forces, SANCAK 30 has been developed to accommodate AEI Systems’ VENOM LR 30x113 mm revolver cannon.
After Unirobotics’ TRAKON RCWS, SANCAK 30 is the second to be designed for the revolver cannon.
VENOM LR can fire HEI-T, HEDP, and proximity-fused ammunition and engage targets such as infantry, light-armoured vehicles, and small UAVs. The rate of fire can be adjusted from 220 RPM to 1300 RPM.
Due to their compactness and firepower, 30x113 mm weapons are being developed as a C-UAS solution for close-range defence and as a stronger alternative to 12.7 mm HMGs.
The second weapon system, first seen on the PARS ALPHA 8x8 armoured vehicle, is the TEBER-II 30/40 mm turret exhibited on the PARS III 6x6 armoured fire support vehicle. The turret has more firepower than the previous generation of the TEBER line.
The first is the integration of two ATGMs to provide an option to engage heavily armoured vehicles. The second is an independent RCWS with a high elevation limit to engage asymmetric threats like personnel located at rooftops and munition-carrying UAVs, which have become a major problem for armoured vehicles with recent developments in the field.
In addition to new weapon systems, the DEFTECH booth will display a modernisation of Malaysia’s ACV-15 “Adnan” AIFV jointly developed by FNSS and DEFTECH. The modernisation kit includes:
A powerpack overhaul.
A new 25x137 mm chain gun turret.
Battle management systems.
Laser warning systems.
A 360-degree situational awareness suite.
FNSS is also modernising the ACV-15s of the Turkish Land Forces with similar additions and overhauls.
