SANCAR USV has officially entered the inventory with a ceremony that also hosted the opening of the new building for HAVELSAN’s combat management systems facility and a technology centre for the KAAN fighter jet. Additionally, the foundation has been laid for the new Simulator Production and Integration Centre.
SANCAR USV is set to perform ASuW missions with ROKETSAN’s KMC missile launcher (UMTAS ATGM and CİRİT laser-guided missiles) and ASELSAN’s SMASH 200/12.7 RCWS.
The USV also has a provision to deploy UUVs and be used in mine countermeasure missions with an optional aft-mounted deployment/recovery system.
Being developed by HAVELSAN in cooperation with Yonca Shipyard, SANCAR is integrated with the former’s ADVENT combat management system which is used by various Turkish Navy ships (TCG Anadolu LHD, I-class frigates, and Hisar-class OPVs).
