Turkish company HAVELSAN presents the last member of its “Digital Troop” concept, the unmanned Ground Vehicle Kapgan, at SAHA Expo 2022. President of Defence Agency (SSB) Professor İsmail Demir and Havelsan CEO Dr Mehmet Akif Nacar attended the launching ceremony.
Kapgan, equipped with a 30-millimetre gun, uses 113-millimetre cases. The weapon has 2000 meters fire range, which provides effective firepower against light armoured vehicles, buildings, enemy fortifications, and other soft targets.
HAVELSAN started its Digital Unity Technologies R&D studies in 2019. It produced its fourth autonomous vehicle within three years. HAVELSAN has developed the unmanned ground vehicle BARKAN, sub-cloud unmanned autonomous aerial vehicle BAHA, and unmanned surface autonomous sea vehicle SANCAR.
