Turkish Aerospace highlights Hürjet, Kaan, Aksungur and Hürkuş at EDEX 2025, while Russia, Italy and Republic of Korea present rival trainer aircraft as China’s AVIC and Hongdu remain absent.
Turkish Aerospace is showcasing its full portfolio of manned and unmanned aircraft at EDEX 2025 in Cairo, with the Hürjet advanced jet trainer and light-attack aircraft drawing significant attention. The platform returns to Egypt a year after its demonstration flight over the Giza Pyramids on 4 September 2024, conducted during the Egypt International Airshow, giving Egyptian officials a direct view of its flight performance.
The company is also presenting the Kaan next-generation fighter programme, the Anka unmanned aerial system and the Hürkuş basic trainer, illustrating the full range of Türkiye’s air-platform development efforts from basic training to future combat aircraft.
Competition in the trainer and light-attack segment is also visible at the exhibition. Russia is represented by Rosoboronexport, responsible for the export of the Yak-130 aircraft currently operated by the Egyptian Air Force. Italy’s Leonardo showcases the M-346 Master, while South Korea’s Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) promotes the T-50/FA-50 family, which has been evaluated by Egypt in earlier procurement cycles.
By contrast, Chinese manufacturers linked to the L-15 (JL-10) — AVIC and Hongdu Aviation Industry Group — do not appear in the official exhibitor lists for EDEX 2025, leaving the primary competition centred on Turkish, Italian, Korean and Russian offerings.
