DRDO tested a long-range 2200 Lb glide bomb, ‘Gaurav’, which accurately hit a target over a 100 km distance.
The Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) tested a long-range 2200 Lb glide bomb, ‘Gaurav’, which accurately hit a target over a 100 km distance.
India develops its homegrown, long-range glide bomb called ‘Gaurav’ to be an alternative to Israel’s SPICE 2000 kits.
The 2200 Lb bomb hit a target more than 100 km away.
During the tests, ‘Gaurav’ was dropped from a Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet flying 30,000 feet.
INS and GPS guide the bomb during the cruise and laser is used at the terminal phase.
