Karel showcases military communications at WDS 2026 TurDef

According to a press release issued by Karel, the company presented its integrated military communication solutions at World Defense Show 2026, held in Riyadh between 8 and 12 February.

Karel highlighted its COM-BAT 5G private mobile network, COM-LINE in-vehicle communication gateway and MOBAT operational headset as part of an end-to-end communications architecture designed for modern military operations. The solutions are positioned to support command and control, situational awareness and decision-making by enabling secure, high-speed data exchange across different unit levels and platforms in tactical environments.

COM-BAT is described as a closed-loop, private 5G network that can be deployed in different operational areas and integrated into both portable and vehicle-mounted configurations. The system is designed to support voice and video communications, real-time data sharing and bandwidth-intensive applications directly in the field. Legacy radio systems can be connected via gateways, allowing existing equipment to operate within the same communications architecture.

The COM-LINE gateway is intended to unify in-vehicle and inter-vehicle communications by connecting subsystems operating on different protocols under a single secure backbone. At the personnel level, MOBAT is presented as an operational headset designed to enhance situational awareness through features such as active noise cancellation and 3D audio, while maintaining continuous connectivity between personnel, vehicles and command elements.

Karel frames its defence communications offering not as a standalone product portfolio but as a full lifecycle technology partnership encompassing design, development, production and field deployment. The company points to its experience across land, air and naval platforms within Türkiye’s defence industry ecosystem as the basis for this systems integration approach.

Saudi Arabia is identified as a strategic market, with the company emphasising long-term cooperation, localisation and sustainable industrial partnerships aligned with Vision 2030 objectives. The systems showcased in Riyadh are described as scalable and adaptable solutions intended for deployment across diverse operational environments in the Middle East and beyond.
