MKE to unveil next-generation systems at SAHA 2026 TurDef

State-owned manufacturer prepares first public debut of new air defence, artillery and naval systems, expanding its portfolio across multiple domains.

Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş. (MKE) will present a wide range of new-generation systems for the first time at SAHA 2026.

The upcoming showcase was outlined by Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Press and Public Relations Advisor and Ministry Spokesperson, during the weekly press briefing of the Turkish Ministry of National Defence.

Among the highlights is the TOLGA Close-In Air Defence System, which will be showcased in a configuration combining the ENFAL-17 missile, a laser weapon and an acoustic detection system. The system was previously based on 12.7 mm airburst ammunition, but is now evolving toward a multi-layered configuration integrating missile, laser and acoustic detection elements.

MKE will also showcase several vehicle-mounted firepower solutions, including the URAN 105 mm gun system and the BOZKIR 120 mm system, both designed to provide mobile direct and indirect fire support. In the heavy artillery segment, the company will debut the ATTİLA 155 mm truck-mounted howitzer, marking its entry into higher-calibre mobile artillery systems.

Mobility and battlefield support systems are also part of the portfolio. The ALPAY-2 vehicle-mounted minefield breaching system is designed to enable armoured units to traverse mined terrain quickly and safely under operational conditions.

Beyond land systems, MKE is extending its presence into naval and small arms segments. The MALAMAN intelligent bottom mine will be displayed as part of the company’s naval munitions offering, alongside the MKE-300 Blackout rifle.

MALAMAN is designed to detect, classify and engage targets using acoustic, magnetic and pressure sensors, with the ability to distinguish between real targets and decoys. It can operate at depths between 5 and 100 metres and be deployed from surface ships, submarines or aircraft, remaining dormant until a defined target profile is detected.

MKE’s SAHA 2026 lineup reflects a broader shift in positioning. The company, which last week marked a major milestone with the inauguration of a large-scale production investment, is now adding new systems to its portfolio. This suggests a move beyond its traditional ammunition role toward a more diversified structure with growing emphasis on system-level capabilities.
