The appointment decrees for Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of National Defence were published in the Official Gazette. Alpaslan Kavaklıoğlu, Bilal Durdalı, Celal Sami Tüfekçi and Şuay Alpay are appointed as Deputy Minister of National Defence.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed the appointment decrees of 68 deputy ministers to work in 17 ministries. Alpaslan Kavaklıoğlu, Bilal Durdalı, Celal Sami Tüfekçi and Şuay Alpay were appointed as Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of National Defence (MSB).
While Alpaslan Kavaklıoğlu and Şuay Alpay formerly served as Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of National Defence, Bilal Durdalı was the General Manager of Personnel of the Ministry of National Defence. Celal Sami Tüfekçi has been serving as the Vice President of the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) since 2015. Tüfekçi’s name was mentioned as the General Directorate of ASELSAN as well.
Is the new era between MSB and the SSB?
Under the management of Hulusi Akar the former Minister of National Defence and Professor İsmail Demir, the former Head of SSB, the lack of coordination between the two institutions was often voiced in the backstages. New names Yaşar Güler and Professor Haluk Görgün are appointed to the two institutions. It is known that Tüfekçi and Görgün have good relations, so it can be expected that a much more robust communication bridge will be established between the MSB and the SSB with this new appointment.
