ASELSAN and Azerbaijan's joint venture QFAB-250-LG, dropped from a Su-25 attack aircraft, has hit the target zone.
One of the modern munitions to be carried by modernised Azerbaijani Su-25 attack aircraft under the LAÇIN programme has scored a hit within the marked zone.
QFAB-250-LG is a spin-off of the LGK guidance kit for Mk-80 GPBs geometrically adapted for the Russian FAB-250 unguided bombs. In parallel with LGK, the kit features a laser seeker and likely a GNSS guidance section.
It is known that Azerbaijani Su-25s will receive TEBER-81/82 laser/GPS kits under the Merhale-1 phase of modernisation. To answer why Azerbaijan is opting for QFAB-250-LG, looking at the Azerbaijani Air Force's inventory of leftovers from the USSR can shed some light.

The inventory includes plenty of FAB-250 250 kg unguided bombs and it is a faster (and cheaper) solution until Azerbaijan receives enough Turkish HGK, TEBER, and KGK kits for a full transition.
QFAB-250-LG, in addition to bolstering Azerbaijan's precision strike capabilities, presents a potential export opportunity for countries using Russian-made combat aircraft without access to Western GPBs.
