Repkon to Produce TNT for U.S. Army

The U.S. Army and U.S. Army Contracting Command have awarded a contract action of $435 million to REPKON USA.

The U.S. Army’s Joint Program Executive Office, Armaments & Ammunition and U.S. Army Contracting Command have awarded a contract action of $435 million to REPKON USA.

REPKON USA Defence LLC will plan, construct, and launch a TNT production facility in Graham, Kentucky. The agreement is being carried out as an undefined sole-source contract.

TNT is the main explosive fill for 155 mm artillery rounds and is necessary for many military uses, including grenades, bombs, and ammunition. For the first time in decades, TNT production will quickly and extensively resume on American soil thanks to this award.

Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Douglas Bush stated, “This is a significant step forward in rebuilding our industrial base and ensuring we have the critical capabilities to support our warfighters.” “Especially in an era of growing global challenges, reshoring TNT production gives us the ability to control and secure our supply chain for this vital component.”

Turkish Defence Company Repkon has signed a contract with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) for artillery projectile metal production facility in Mesquite, Texas.
