SSB and TUSAŞ have signed the deal for the KAAN Block-10 fighter jets during SAHA EXPO 2026, which covers the delivery of 20 fighters between 2028 and 2030.
The procurement deal for the initial production variant of the KAAN fighter, KAAN Block-10, has been signed between SSB and TUSAŞ, with the deliveries of the first KAAN fighters to take place between 2028 and 2030.
KAAN Block-10, as the initial production variant will have the core capabilities and use the F110-GE-129 turbofan engines also present on the Turkish Air Force F-16 fighters.
MURAD 600-A AESA radar, TOYGUN EOTS, and KARAT IRST are expected to be present on this variant, with later blocks introducing sensor upgrades.
The first munitions to be integrated into KAAN, per the ongoing integration tests, are GÖKDOĞAN and GÖKHAN BVRAAMs, BOZDOĞAN WVRAAM, and the SOM-M cruise missile, and various guided bombs (external carriage).
KAAN Block-30 will introduce the TF35000 turbofan engines from TEI and TRMotor, which will allow improved performance, including a significant supercruise capability.
OKU MUM-T system will be likewise present in the later batches, which will allow KAAN to control and coordinate various UAVs like ANKA-III UCAV, SÜPER ŞİMŞEK UAV, and potentially KIZILELMA unmanned fighter.
