Following the unveiling of the updated design during IDEF2025, STM has shown the first block of the Turkish Type Fast Attack Craft (TTHB) in the lay-down ceremony held on the 24th of October.
Fast Attack Crafts hold a significant place in the Turkish Navy’s anti-surface warfare capability with their high speed, agility, and anti-ship missiles. TTHB with more advanced systems compared to in-service classes can be regarded as both an upgrade and an indigenousation of such an important capability.
Some of the notable features include a CODAD propulsion with endurance advantages, four water jets, and a superstructure optimised to lower RCS.
Armament consists of eight ATMACA anti-ship missiles and aft PDMS (GÖKSUR or LEVENT); a 76 mm naval gun and a pair of RCWS for close-range engagements.
The sensors are uncertain for the time being, but there is a good chance that ASELSAN’s CENK 300-N (ARDA) X-band AESA radar, which is meant for smaller platforms, will be utilised, judging from the latest presentations.
