TEBER Guidance Kit Boards Bangladeshi F-7 Fighters

Bangladesh has exhibited ROKETSAN’s TEBER laser + GPS guidance kit for Mk-81 and Mk-82 GPBs, set to be used on Chinese-made F-7BGI fighter jets. Turkish guidance kit was spotted during Arms Show-2024 in Bangladesh on the broadcast of a local TV channel. A Chinese LS-6-winged guidance kit was also present alongside TEBER. Bangladesh is one of the users of Shenyang F-7BGI, the upgraded export version of the J-7 fighter jet, which is heavily based on Russian MiG-21’s design. The F-7BGI upgrade allows for the usage of guided air-to-surface munitions, including bombs with guidance kits. The aircraft will soon start using ROKETSAN’s guidance kit, which provides enhanced precision with a combination of laser and GPS/INS guidance. When used in tandem with GPS/INS guidance, the laser guidance not only lowers deviation from the target but also gives the capability to engage moving targets. The kit has impact and laser proximity fuse modes. TEBER isn’t the first product that ROKETSAN has exported to Bangladesh. The country has also received the MLRS system of ROKETSAN with TRG-300 and TRG-230 guided artillery rockets. ROKETSAN’s MLRS system can use 107 mm, 122 mm, 230 mm, and 300 mm artillery rockets plus BORA ballistic missiles.
