House Intelligence Committee chairman Mike Turner warned on Wednesday about a national security threat that should be considered essential. He did not reveal the details. It became evident that Russia showcased its capabilities in space as it recently launched a new anti-satellite capability. The satellite is to have electronic warfare capability to target U.S. satellites that are essential for military and civilian communication.
The intelligence committee had this intelligence two or three weeks ago. U.S. officials state that it is essential but not imminent.
