ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE's TOLUN small-diameter bomb dropped from AKINCI UCAV successfully hit a target located on the sea. TOLUN was carried under the SADAK-4T quad smart rack, which is mounted on the central hardpoint of AKINCI UCAV. In previous tests, TOLUN has achieved important milestones such as four simultaneous hits and hitting its target under intense GPS jamming.
In TOLUN’s test with F-16 this year, four targets were hit simultaneously. Thus, F-16 fighters will be capable of attacking eight targets at once. There will be four targets for AKINCI UCAV, which can carry SADAK-4T on the central hardpoint. When dropped by fighter jets, TOLUN, guided by GNSS and INS, has a range of more than 110 km.
The latter is important as some U.S.-supplied munitions with GPS guidance have experienced trouble hitting their targets protected by Russian GNSS jammers.
ASELSAN is additionally developing the TOLUN-IIR variant with an IIR seeker to hit moving targets and the unnamed ground-launched version with Delta-V's hybrid fuel rocket motor.
