Turkish ammunition producer TURAÇ Dış Ticaret Ltd. Şti. presented its product range at World Defense Show 2026 under its internationally recognised Sterling brand, where counter-drone ammunition emerged as one of the most discussed solution areas of the exhibition.
As unmanned aerial systems continue to reshape operational environments — particularly through the widespread use of low-cost FPV and tactical drones — demand for layered counter-UAS solutions has intensified. In this context, close-range kinetic options are increasingly viewed as a complementary capability alongside electronic warfare and missile-based air defence systems.
Sterling’s defence portfolio encompasses specialised ammunition solutions tailored for military and security applications. During the Riyadh show, the brand’s counter-drone offerings were positioned within the broader debate on force protection, asymmetric threats and cost-effective battlefield responses.
The strong interest observed at the exhibition reflects a structural shift in procurement priorities, as armed forces and internal security agencies seek scalable and deployable answers to the expanding drone threat across multiple regions.
