Turkish Navy might start various naval projects today, on the anniversary of the Preveza Naval Victory.
TurDef has recently shared its expectations about the TF-2000 air defence destroyer (AAW) construction. The clue was provided by ASFAT’s social media posts concerning the “countdown” for the vessel.
The Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSİK) met in January 2024 and announced some naval projects. The decision included the construction of Mine Hunter and some OPVs. TurDef has learned that the Defence Industry Secretariat (SSB) is expected to award a contract to winning shipyards to construct four Hisar class OPVs.
First two Hisa Class OPVs TCG Akhisar and TCG Koçhisar are constructed at Istanbul Naval Shipyard Command (ITK) .
TCG Oruçreis, the Barbaros class frigate which underwent a comprehensive MLU is also expected to return to the navy inventory.
