Turkiye and Pakistan to Deepen Relations with 24 Agreements TurDef

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Pakistan for official talks, was welcomed with an official ceremony by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan. 
Following the 7th Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the signing ceremony of agreements and a joint press conference with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan:
The meeting concluded with a joint declaration aimed at developing and diversifying strategic partnerships and the signing of 24 collaboration agreements in various disciplines. Deals include the interchange of military and civilian personnel for social and cultural objectives, the cooperation of two countries’ air forces in electronic warfare, and the cooperation in military healthcare training. In the energy sector, the two countries agreed to alter their collaboration on hydrocarbons and their agreement on energy transformation and mining. Pakistan and Turkey have inked a declaration and memorandum of cooperation on commodity trade and the digitisation of commercial documents.

“During our meeting with Mr Shehbaz Sharif before the council meeting, we thoroughly reviewed our bilateral relations and regional and global developments. Pakistan’s support for the rightful cause of the Turkish Cypriots is highly meaningful to us. We feel Pakistan’s strong support in our fight against all forms of terrorism, including PKK, YPG, DAESH, and FETO. We reiterate our support for Pakistan in its fight against terror in all its kinds and forms.”
Erdoğan said for the 7th Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, “We agreed to strengthen our relations, and 24 documents were signed in this regard. With Mr. Prime Minister, we agree to increase our efforts to reach the target of 5 billion dollars in trade volume. (Through Türkiye-Pakistan Business Forum) We encourage our investors, the driving engine of economic cooperation, to engage in more activities in Pakistan. 


TUSAŞ  General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu and the Pakistan Naval Research and Development Institute (NRDI) General Manager Javed Iqbal have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in maritime defence technologies.
