Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam met the Turkiye - Vietnam Trade Council President, Reha Denemeç, to discuss cooperation.
The meeting between senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Na and the Turkiye - Vietnam Trade Council President, Reha Denemeç, was a significant step towards enhancing defence cooperation.
Vietnamese MoD’s People’s Army Newspaper reported that Pham Hoai Nam underlined the exchange of delegations for cooperation in the defence sector. Vietnam plans to participate in future defence exhibitions in Turkiye (SAHA EXPO, IDEF...).
Nam also announced the Vietnamese MoD’s readiness to host Turkish defence firms at the upcoming Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024, scheduled for December 2024.
The Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Defense, Hoang Xuan Chien, thanked Reha Deneme for his positive contribution to promoting cooperation between Turkish defence enterprises and the MND’s defence agencies and enterprises. Chien suggested both sides should speed up coordination and quickly sign cooperation documents to create a framework for cooperation areas.
Vietnam’s interest in cooperation with the Turkish defence industry marks another step in the East Asia region, in which Indonesia and Malaysia are the prime partners of Turkiye with projects like LMS Batch 2 corvettes, KAPLAN MT tanks, and TriSula layered air defence system.
