Turkiye Makes Package Defence Export to Indonesia

ASELSAN and ROKETSAN have signed deals with Indonesia covering the export of multiple products.

ASELSAN's deals with Indonesia include exporting CENK-400N AESA searching radar, SARP RCWS (Unspecified type), naval gun fire control system, and data-link for missiles.

ROKETSAN's deals include ÇAKIR light cruise missile, SUNGUR MANPADS, and MAM-L smart munition.

The Asian country has previously purchased ATMACA anti-ship missiles from ROKETSAN for use on its warships, and the acquisition of CENK-400N is another major preference in terms of the warships' equipment.

Malaysia is likely to be the other customer of the CENK-400N radar, with the MİLGEM-derived LMS Batch 2 design being displayed with the radar. CENK-400N, working in the S-band, has an instrumented range of 400 km and is currently used by TCG İstanbul (F-515) frigate. The radar with the advantages of GaN AESA architecture represents a leap from SMART-S Mk2 radar used on most Turkish warships.

The addition of a gun fire control system and missile data link point to Indonesia picking Turkiye as the systems provider for its new warships.

There has been no statement on what service or platforms will use ÇAKIR. AKINCI UCAV is the most likely option, as Indonesia will use it for maritime surveillance, and the platform has fired missiles multiple times. In the latest test, ÇAKIR, with an IIR seeker, has successfully hit a sea target. The missile has a range of 150+ km and can be fitted with different warheads. The missile is being developed for a wide array of air, ground, and naval platforms.

MAM-L can also be tied to the AKINCI UCAV sale to Indonesia as one of the primary weapons of Turkish UCAVs.

SUNGUR's export agreement marks the first officially confirmed export of the missile.
