TUSAŞ delivered three GÖKBEY Multirole Utility Helicopters to the Gendarmerie General Command.
GÖKBEY, Turkiye's first original helicopter designed by Turkish Aerospace, was delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
TUSAŞ developed the helicopter with the experience and capabilities it gained at the T129 Atak helicopter programme. Critical systems such as gearbox, rotor, landing gear, and structural and avionics systems are wholly designed and manufactured domestically.
The Multirole Utility helicopter, which made its first flight in 2018, will be able to perform VIP Transport, cargo, air ambulance, search and rescue and offshore transportation duties. TEI TS1400 Turboshaft Engine integration studies are ongoing. Deliveries with the domestic engine are targeted to be made in 2027-2028.
Turkish Aerospace will manufacture two helicopters per month.
