TUSAŞ Expands Global Reach with Exports to 15 Countries TurDef

TUSAŞ has delivered HÜRKUŞ trainers, ATAK helicopters, and ANKA and AKSUNGUR UAVs under 21 contracts, strengthening Turkiye’s global defence industry presence.

TUSAŞ, continues strengthening its international presence. Speaking at the TUSAŞ Management Summit in Ankara, Secretary of Defence Industries (SSB) Haluk Görgün announced that the company has produced exports to 15 countries, fulfilling 21 contracts. Deliveries included:

5 HÜRKUŞ basic trainer aircraft,

12 ATAK attack helicopters,

75 ANKA and AKSUNGUR unmanned aerial vehicles.

Global Expansion through Strategic Collaboration

Key goals of the SSB’s 2024–2028 Strategic Plan include improving sectoral competitiveness and sustainability, creating future-oriented technologies and capacities by national means, and building institutional capacity.

Somalia Sets an Example for TUSAŞ

One of the export contracts Görgün mentioned seems connected to Turkiye’s growing military collaboration with Somalia. According to Middle East Eye’s recent publications, Somali pilots are still in training in Turkiye, refuting earlier rumours that Ankara had already given the helicopters.
