Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, states that the sale of Piaggio Aerospace to Baykar brings cooperation opportunities with Turkiye.
Nova News reports that Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso attended the Senate Q&A session on the government’s new plan to support the automotive sector in Italy.

Speaking about the sale of Piaggio Aerospace to a Turkish industrial group Baykar, Urso said that the sale of Piaggio Aerospace to the Turkish company Baykar “represents a solution of great industrial profile that allows the relaunch of a strategic company of the country in a rapidly expanding sector.” Urso added, “Furthermore, it allows us to outline a broader technological and industrial partnership between Italy and Turkiye. Another positive solution to a serious legacy of the past.”
We are evaluating the development of further alliances with “strategic companies in the sector, such as Leonardo, further to strengthen our aerospace sector and our leadership in Europe,” the minister continued. “This solution represents a strengthening of industrial relations between Italy and Turkiye”, he added.
Baykar and Piaggio Aerospace started negotiating in December 2018, when Piaggio Aerospace was admitted to the extraordinary administration procedure. Three definitive and binding offers were received to purchase all the business complexes.
