20-years-old CTech becomes a Global Communication Provider TurDef

CTech, a company that was established as a venture capital firm in 2005 and became a subsidiary of TUSAŞ in 2018, celebrates 20 years of operations. Operating from Teknopark Istanbul and Bilkent Cyberpark, Ankara, with over 250 employees, CTech has become a leading exporter of communication technologies. The company specialises in secure satellite communication systems, electronic warfare-resistant technologies, and integrated communication solutions for land, air, naval, and space platforms.

CTech General Manager Dr Cüneyd Fırat highlighted the company's success: “In 2006, we initiated the SecureARX Secure Satellite Communication Terminal project, compliant with NATO standards and resistant to jamming. By 2014, we became the primary secure satellite terminal supplier for the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF). In 2024, NATO's Communications and Information Agency awarded us a contract for an 'Electronic Warfare Resistant System for Satellite Communication Ground Systems.'”

The company’s innovations extend across multiple domains. CTech’s SkyARX broadband satellite communication terminal has been operational on TUSAŞ’s ANKA UAV since 2019, accumulating 300,000 flight hours by 2024. During the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake, an AKSUNGUR UAV equipped with SkyARX facilitated emergency communications. Additionally, a 2024 agreement with Leonardo secured the integration of CTech’s satellite solutions into maritime patrol aircraft for an Asian nation.

CTech also plays a critical role in naval communication. The AquaARX system is widely used in Turkiye’s Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs), while HeliARX provides the country’s first indigenous helicopter satellite communication capability, overcoming rotor blade signal interference challenges.

Beyond satellite communications, CTech has developed the UfukLink Mini system for Line-of-Sight (LOS) and Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLOS) communications, now installed on most domestic Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs). Another innovation, SCOFUS, integrates satellite, RF-LOS, and cellular networks (4G/LTE/5G) into a unified communication channel using a patented algorithm.

Dr Fırat outlined CTech’s long-term vision: “Our products are operational in approximately 15 countries, and our electronic warfare-resistant secure satellite modem has the potential to be adopted across NATO. Over the next decade, we aim to establish overseas offices, expand partnerships, and enhance our global presence. Our objective is to become a world-renowned brand in defence communication technologies.”
