The Turkish Navy’s future Offshore Patrol Vessel, Akhisar P-1220, built at the Istanbul Shipyard Command under ASFAT’s responsibility, conducted her first sea trial.
Military Factory and Shipyard Operations Corporation (ASFAT A.Ş.) wrote on social media that the ship started to conduct the sea trials.
A contract was signed between ASFAT A.Ş. and the Ministry of National Defence for two offshore patrol vessels based on the Ada class in November 2020. The construction of first vessel (P-1220) TCG AKHİSAR began in August 2021, while the second (P-1221) TCG KOÇHİSAR began in December 2022.
