Altınay Increases Its Power in KAAN’s Landing Gear

Altınay Defence Technologies signed two milestones at SAHA EXPO 2024, held between October 22-26.

Altınay, which purchased DASAL shares from ASELSAN last week, made an important move in its other subsidiary, TAAC Aviation Technologies and signed a cooperation agreement with NETAŞ.

Altınay Defence Technologies Board Member and TAAC General Manager Enis Ata said, “In the aviation field where TAAC operates, we have a wide product range to meet the needs of platforms developed in our country, especially regarding landing gears, flight control actuators and high-tech test systems. Although we are a young company, we are also an important player on a global scale with these capabilities developed in a very short time. The collaboration we have established with NETAŞ will be an important step in meeting the needs of our defence industry and will expand our local and national solution pool.”

Expressing that they are proud to contribute to Turkiye’s goal of localisation in the defence sector, Ata continued, “We have succeeded in developing the Landing Gear of our National Combat Aircraft KAAN within a very ambitious schedule.

Our pride project, the HÜRJET Iron Bird Test System, one of the most sophisticated aviation test systems developed in our country to date, provides a fully equipped test environment and allows testing of all aircraft subsystems on the ground and under real flight conditions. In this way, the first pre-flight tests of our country’s first domestic and national jet training and light attack aircraft, HÜRJET, were successfully carried out on the Iron Bird Test Systems developed by TAAC engineers. Contributing to Turkiye’s critical projects, TAAC continues to increase its power through collaborations. We believe our agreement with NETAŞ will also take TAAC even further.”

NETAŞ CEO Sinan Dumlu also emphasised that such partnerships in the defence sector will greatly contribute to Turkiye’s technological independence goals and increase its competitive power internationally.
