ASFAT, in collaboration with TÜBİTAK SAGE, has announced the successful delivery of the first batch of HGK-84 guidance kits for the Turkish Air Force Command.
Turkish Defence Ministry company ASFAT, in collaboration with Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye Defence Industries Research and Development Institute TÜBİTAK SAGE, has announced the successful delivery of the first batch of HGK-84 guidance kits for the Turkish Air Force Command.
The HGK-84 Procurement Project began with an agreement signed between the Ministry of National Defence and ASFAT on February 3, 2023. Under the project, ASFAT and TÜBİTAK SAGE successfully delivered HGK-84A guidance kits featuring improved configurations. The 3rd Air Maintenance Factory Directorate conducted final assembly, production, and testing in Ankara under the Military Factories General Directorate.
During initial deliveries, acceptance tests recorded a 100 per cent success rate.
The HGK-84 converts unguided MK-84 general-purpose and penetrator bombs into precision-guided smart munitions with air-to-ground capabilities. The kits enable launches from 15 nautical miles, achieving accuracy within ten meters. When integrated with a Laser Seeker Head, the kit provides a Circular Error Probable (CEP) accuracy of less than three meters.
