Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 UCAV Attacks Pro-Russian Forces

The Ukrainian Armed Troops used Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs for the first time against pro-Russian separatist forces in Donbas. According to a statement posted on the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Facebook page, Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs struck a pro-Russian separatist artillery installation in the Donbas settlement of Granitnoye.

According to the announcement, on October 26, 2021, the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine"s Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Valeriy Zaluzhny, ordered the first use of the Bayraktar TB2 UCAV in the Joint Forces Operation region.

From 14:25 until 15:15, a battery of Russian terrorist forces" D-30 howitzers fired on Joint Forces positions in the Hranitne village area. During the bombardment, two Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel were injured. One of them was killed. With the start of the bombardment, the OSCE SMM - Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine - immediately sought a truce, and a message was delivered through diplomatic channels. The occupants, on the other hand, remained silent.

Bayraktar was employed to force the opponent to stop firing. The unmanned aerial vehicle did not cross the contact line. It used a guided bomb to destroy one of the Russian occupying troops" guns. Following that, the bombardment of Ukrainian positions ceased.
