GA-ASI Tests Dispensing Sonobuoy from the MQ-9B

General Atomics conducted Sonobuoy Dispensing System (SDS) testing on February 27, 2024, on the MQ-9B Sea Guardian with the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). General Atomics tested their Sonobuoy Dispensing System (SDS) at the W-291 test range in southern California on February 27, 2024, under the United States Navy's supervision. The test was carried out in partnership with the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). The aircraft that took part in the full test flight event was GA-ASI's SeaGuardian, which was outfitted with Raytheon's SDS pod and SeaVue multi-role radar. The SDS pod retrieved a total of eight AN/SSQ-53 sonobuoys and two AN/SSQ-62 sonobuoys throughout the test. The SeaGuardian's onboard Sonobuoy Monitoring and Control System (SMCS) effectively monitored the sonobuoys post-dispensation.
