Poland Acquires $3.679 billion worth missile from the U.S.

U.S. approved Poland’s missile acquisition request for JASSM-ER, AIM-120C-8 and AIM-9X. The total cost will be $3.679 billion. The State Department approved a possible Foreign Military Sale Poland of AGM-158B-2 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile with Extended Range All-Up-Rounds, AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles and AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II Tactical Missiles. The total price tag of this acquisition programme will be $3.679 billion. Poland will pay $1.77 billion for 821 AGM-158B-2 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles with Extended Range (JASSM-ER) All-Up-Rounds. The country will acquire 745 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM), up to 16 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM guidance sections, and 50 LAU-129 Guided Missile Launchers and the estimated cost is $1.69 billion. The country will also buy 232 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II Tactical Missiles and 16 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II Tactical Missile Guidance Units. The estimated total cost of this acquisition program is $219.1 million.
