Poland Denies Cut Defence Spending Claims

Poland’s Defence Minister said he would take legal action against TV Republika due to the claim that Poland would cut its defence spending by 25 per cent. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, denies TV Republika’s claim that Poland will reduce its defence spending by 25 per cent in the period 2025-2028.

Kosiniak-Kamysz assured that defence spending will increase by at least 10 per cent compared to this year’s budget. The Ministry has refuted the claim, suggesting that Moscow may be behind the news.

TV Republika, the source of the claim, has a document at its disposal. This particular news was made public by the journalist of “TV Republika”, Piotr Nisztor, and the document is a letter sent by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the country to the Ministry of Defence, in which the General Staff expresses its opposition to such a decision.
