The Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSİK) will be held Today under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex. Following the meeting in January 2024, SSİK will convene for the second time in 2024. The Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) held at the beginning of August did not change the command level, so the staff in January will remain the same.
The current members of the Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSİK) are President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, Force Commanders and Secretary of Defence Industries Haluk Görgün. In addition, other officials deemed appropriate may also attend the meeting.
Among the issues that can be expected to be on the agenda at SSİK, it is possible to expect to start the serial production of the Kaan aircraft, which was originally designed and produced by Turkish Aerospace, and a decision regarding the TF-2000 Air Defence Destroyer, which the Naval Forces Command has been working on for a long time. It will not be surprising to see the MSB company ASFAT, which did not get a work share of the Hisar class OPVs at the SSİK held in January, be assigned to the TF-2000.
