Turkish Defence Companies Attend NATO Meeting

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg invited Roketsan General Manager Murat İkinci and General Manager of Baykar Haluk Bayraktar to a meeting at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler also attended the meeting. İkinci and Bayraktar met with the CEOs of 26 companies in defence technology. The meeting aimed to support collaborations to enhance the defence production capacities of NATO members.
Haluk Bayraktar summarized his speech from his social media accounts about the defence industry’s future. According to Bayraktar, While global defence spending is increasing, NATO’s share of expenditures is gradually decreasing. In the last 20 years, NATO has lost ten per cent of its share of the expenditure to China, Russia, and India.

The defence industry, which supports the global security understanding, needs real growth in expenditures for new capacity, planning, and investment.
