TCG Batıray Submarine Docked at Navy’s Submarine Floating Dock

Turkish naval forces accepted the floating submarine dock last June. The Defence Ministry shared the video of the process.
The 3000-ton Submarine dock differs from conventional dock construction projects due to its task definition, the needs it will meet and its design. The dock is 90 meters long, 25 meters wide outside and 17 meters inside; its height is 19.90 meters, and it can lift all types of Turkish submarines.

The sliding panel roof will help control environmental conditions. This feature will significantly contribute to the maintenance capabilities of existing submarines. With it, repairs, conversions and heavy maintenance of the Turkish submarine fleet can be done at any point.
It will allow not only planned maintenance but also unplanned docking operations in case of malfunctions, accidents and emergencies that submarines may experience. If necessary, the submarine can be backed up thanks to this system.
ASFAT was the prime contractor on the project. YÜTEK Makina Shipbuilding Industry Trade Ltd constructed the dock at Hicri Ercili Shipyard.
