Turkiye and the UK signed the Defence Industry Cooperation Council Charter in London to start a new phase in the two nations' strategic defence cooperation.
The Charter of the Turkiye–United Kingdom defence Industry Cooperation Council (TUDIC) has been officially signed by both parties, hence institutionalising the relationship between the two countries in the area of defence industry.

According to the announcement issued by the Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB), the signing occurred during the TUDIC summit in London. The event brought together Maria Eagle, the Minister of Defence Procurement and Industry of the United Kingdom; Haluk Gorgun, Secretary of Defence Industries; and Musa Heybet, Deputy Minister of National Defence of Turkiye.
Strategic collaboration is vital in a society continually changing
The statement underlined that the meeting was planned to foster cooperation in reaction to a shifting worldwide security situation and shared dangers affecting all stakeholders engaged. During their meeting, the two nations reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening their relationship in the sphere of defence industry via the use of institutional channels and organised communication.
As another point of interest, it was mentioned that the meeting represented a mutual desire to take the bilateral military industry cooperation to a new strategic level. According to the newly signed charter, it is anticipated that it would serve as the basis for coordinated actions, future cooperative initiatives, and improved industrial involvement between the Turkish and British military industries.
The participation of many firms in the defence industry
At the meeting, in addition to officials from the government, there were also representatives from military corporations from both Turkiye and the United Kingdom. Their involvement within the TUDIC framework reflects the growing possibilities for industry collaborations, knowledge transfer, and co-development projects.
The statement finished by saying the signing of the charter was a significant move towards enhancing the strategic military cooperation now in place between Turkiye and the United Kingdom.
