TUSAŞ Anka-III UCAV Drops LGK-82 Laser-Guided 500 lb Bomb

TUSAŞ Anka-III UCAV Drops LGK-82 Laser-Guided 500 lb Bomb TurDef

TUSAŞ Anka-III stealth UCAV dropped ASELSAN’s LGK-82 laser/GNSS-guided bomb from its external hardpoint, successfully hitting the target with laser marking.

The test marks the third munition type integrated into Anka-III. LGK-82 hit near the laser-designated point following its release (Anka-III did not perform laser designation).

Anka-III previously dropped the ROKETSAN TEBER-82 laser/GNSS-guided bomb and ASELSAN’s TOLUN small-diameter bomb. The latter was dropped from both the outer wing hardpoint and internal weapons bay, demonstrating Anka-III’s flexibility in terms of armament configuration depending on stealth needs.

The next munitions on the line are expected to be KGK-82/83 winged general-purpose bombs, the HGK series of GNSS-guided general-purpose bombs, and the SOM family of cruise missiles. The UCAV will also be capable of deploying the SÜPER ŞİMŞEK UAV that can be fitted with various payloads as a remote carrier (Jammer, IR/RF signature amplifiers, warhead, seeker...).

Anka-III brings higher speed and low observability to TUSAŞ’s line of UCAVs and leverages existing interfaces. The use of common control system architectures with Anka and Aksungur UCAVs has made the testing phase of Anka-III go quickly. A notable example of this rapid progress is munition tests taking place less than a year after the maiden flight.
