U.S. Picks TEI Again for LM2500 Gas Turbine Maintenance TurDef

TEI CEO Mahmut F. Akşit stated that TEI had won another tender for the maintenance work of GE Aerospace LM2500 marine gas turbine engines used on ships.

Speaking to savunmasanayi.org, CEO Akşit announced TEI's success in the tender to maintain a widely used gas turbine engine for warships, from corvettes to destroyers.

LM2500 is used in the Turkish Navy's Ada-class corvettes, I-class frigates, and TCG Derya (A-1590) logistic support ship. The engine will also be used on TF-2000 AAW destroyers (CODOG configuration) and the MUGEM aircraft carrier (COGAG configuration).

TEI has set its export goal for 2025 at $450 million. Akşit previously stated to Anadolu Agency News that TEI is preparing for new international contracts and working with various countries to achieve the goal.

On the other hand, the work on aircraft engines is ongoing, such as the transition to serial production for the TS1400 turboshaft engine and the development of the TF6000/10000 turbofan engine.
