US President Trump Suspends Military Aid to Ukraine TurDef

US President Donald Trump reportedly temporarily suspended US military aid to Ukraine following an argument with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office on Friday.
Anonymous White House officials who spoke to US media confirmed earlier reports that President Donald Trump would halt military aid to Ukraine.
The officials emphasized that following the atmosphere created in the White House by Trump's argument with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a temporary decision was made to suspend all military aid to the country.

The suspension, planned for Ukraine, will affect military aid worth more than $1 billion. Trump said the US would stop supporting Zelensky should he fail to move towards peace with actual actions. He also underlined that the United States does not want to shoulder the financial load alone and attacked European leaders for not helping Ukraine enough.

Zelensky responded by underlining the need for diplomacy and the need to end the conflict as soon as feasible, as US backing was critical in this process. To offset Russian aggression, Ukraine still mostly depends on American military help; hence, suspending this aid would seriously compromise its defensive capacity.
