The United States Air Force (USAF) has received the first four MH-139A Grey Wolf test helicopters from Leonardo and Boeing as the service looks to replace its ageing fleet of UH-1N helicopters. The Grey Wolf, based on Leonardo's dual-purpose AW139 helicopter, is a multi-mission helicopter designed to protect intercontinental ballistic missiles and transport US government officials and security forces.
Italian Leonardo’s attack helicopter development project AW249 performed its maiden flight. The rotorcraft project formally started upon receipt of a €487 contract from the Italian Army to replace the 5-ton class Agusta A129 Mangusta. The new helicopter will be larger, more survivable, and have greater autonomy than the Mangusta and will be three tonnes heavier. The new helicopter will incorporate stealth technologies and team with UAVs to command and control them.
The Italian Defence company Leonardo announced that Greece had chosen the Kronos Grand Radar for the Crete Shooting Range (PBK) and the NATO NAMFI (NATO Missile Fire Installation). The relevant announcement was made during the “Farnborough International Air show”. The agreement concerns the delivery of a self-propelled Kronos Grand to the Air Force (PA), which will be used for training activities and testing. The delivery of the radar is expected in 2024.

Mariusz Błaszczak, deputy prime minister and head of the Ministry of National Defence, signed a contract in Świdnik to deliver 32 AW149 multi-role helicopters to Polish Land Forces. Leonardo will manufacture AW149 helicopters locally at its plant, the PZL Swidnik. The contract value is PLN 8 billion 250 million.
