Although the Ares Shipyard’s newest design, the Ares 76 Corvette, is similar in size to the Ares 72 OPV, it was designed from scratch in accordance with the demands of an undisclosed potential user. In this ARES design, all weapon systems will be used domestically.
The ship will be equipped with MKE’s 76 mm naval gun. Roketsan’s Atmaca antiship and Orka Lightweight Torpedo for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) will be on board. ASELSAN provides both Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) Göksur and Electro-optical systems. Meteksan will provide a YAKAMOS hull-mounted sonar system, while HAVELSAN will provide an Advent Combat Management System.
