ASELSAN’s TULGAR Helmet-Mounted Display (HMD) system, which is under development for a KAAN fighter jet, is being tested on an F-16 fighter jet.
TurDef has learned that TULGAR HMD, a critical component of the KAAN fighter jet as the third eye of pilots, is being tested on an F-16 fighter, most probably at the 401st Test Squadron. The prototype production of the TULGAR was completed by the end of 2023.
TULGAR HMD is a head-mounted visor projected display system for fixed-wing platforms. This system is designed to enhance situational awareness and increase the capabilities of the pilot and the aircraft with its digital night vision, colour display, and accurate head tracking.
HMD supports the pilot during missions with high-resolution colour imagery projected onto the visor. The visor possesses a high field of view and see-through capability for increased situational awareness.
